Ink rev 201

Here I only use one of my gradient and the color change with pressure =)
Details could be add easily at this stage, but I didn't want to :D

1) Basic colors from gradient
2) Same gradient, layer in screen mode
3) Same gradient, layer in multiply mode

15 min :D

----

Using gradients is quite faster because colors were chosen to be nice when put together so whatever I do it would seem nice with these colors ( values and saturation are already good, it saves a lot of time :c )

Ink rev 200

The Ink rev 200 isn't something special ( unlike ink rev 100 :D )
I just want to make some nice clouds and create some new gradients.

Having different custom gradients can help you in a lot of situation, some ideas might pop out better with colors at the very beginning of your painting =)
( I think it's funnier to make our own gradients )

Alright... | Chris Scalf video review

Chris Scalf's dragon step by step video :o

I know I'm repeating myself but I think I understand now :D
Just by looking at this step by step video I understand how Chris Scalf chose his colors :c

First he makes a sketch, then he puts gray values for the dragon and the background, when he's done with the gray part detailing and all, he begins to put the colors in overlay mode so this isn't much saturate at first, then he paint the fire ( an orange color ); just after that, he puts the orange color of the fire on the scales of the dragon, which could reflect the light of flames, in overlay mode again so they got more saturate, then he puts some red in the fire so he puts some red onto the scales aswell :c

He used to make a red / blue contrast for the light and shadow part, so the dragon's shadows are dark blue, he lights them up with the dodge tool so he got a lighter blue on the scales which could reflect the light of the moon (maybe ?) then he used that color to put it into the background :D

He seems to like working on one layer, so details just come in and out with his burn and dodge tool =)

---------------------------------------------
That seems easy ... or not xD

EDIT : now that I wrote this, I see that all Chris Scalf's videos are built in the same way ( a good way though ). I'll have to try it out again =)

Ink rev 199

My favorite character in Land Of Chaos Online so far, she's not weak and she's not too strong, and she's not like that in the real game xD ( Fan art here =)
Her head should be bigger but I did the whole char part by part, first the head, then the bust, and the rest without making any squelet to help me out and the canvas just got bigger and bigger so it could be like that :p

I hope you wouldn't mind ( I did this one in 20 minutes I wanted a fast one )

EDIT : You can even see a black square behind Fox Lady's head, that was the original canvas size :D

Ink rev 198

Damn heat, no idea, no fan ( that's why it's hot, I mean ... right now... at home ... nothing relate to the picture ... I think xD )

Ink rev 196

Forgot to post this one x_x
I just like the gray tones :c it reminds me some inks effects on papers maybe

Ink rev 197

Somehow I think this isn't good :/ ... too much saturate and ... not really detailed maybe ?
The third picture seems to be better than the final comp ... damn :/
Edit : Ah I know ... the color mode sucked on this one :/
